Im a bad blogger

So I went to my blog to venture onto someone elses and realized I had a new comment on my last post. As I read it I realized what an ass I felt like as a friend of mine had given me an award in June and I never got it......OOOOOPPPPPSSSSS. So here is the award....

and it came from Stacie. Thank you Stacie and it does seem hard to believe it has been 5 years. So I will try to be a better blogger from now on, but I can make no promises, as these kids and their activities keep me busy. I am praying for more time once school starts.

Ponderings on my life

Well, I am here to blog today, what a shock I know. I have been busy lately, but it should slow down some at Zo's party is over. We have one more birthday this weekend and then really nothing much until baseball officially starts.

So lately I have been feeling down in the dumps. Im sure some of it is just living in Indiana and the winter blues (like really this is the third snowiest winter in Indiana history), but other things Im not so sure. I havent really shared any of what is going on in my head with anyone, and I think what happened over the weekend just brought it on full force. Mike completely missed Zo's party at Chuck E Cheese. This has been a sore subject around here for a few weeks as he scheduled the installation of the Verizon FiOS TV to be installed on her birthday and the day of her party. Someone had to be here for the Verizon guy and it had to be an adult. So I was stuck with our four kids plus the ones that came to the party. Thankfully, most of the parents stayed, but it was a lot to deal with on my own. Especially when I was sleep deprived as the night before was the mother/son Laser X night. It wouldnt have pissed me off as bad as it did except that I found out the Verizon guy left at noon (when the party started), but Mike could not get the main computer on the wireless network so he decided that was more important than coming. I know he HATES Chuck E Cheese (really its not my favorite place either), but come on it was Zo's b-day. So, yes I still have an attitude and some resentment over it, and it had reared its head a few times this week. He has been kissing my ass some and did take us to dinner on Saturday night.

By the way, the FiOS TV is awesome, and as of today he added the movie 08 package(Showtime, TMC, Encore, Starz, Flix, Sundance, and IFC) so now I can DVR Big Brother After Dark on Showtime (yup, still kissing ass).

So all that aside, I really do love him, but man I have just been in a funk lately. Im not sure what it is, though all the snow days that I have had to call into work and then be stuck at home with the four brats is probably not helping any (yesterday was another one). Speaking of yesterday, I totally lost it with all the kids. They have been at each other so much lately, and I cant take the constant yelling and bickering any longer. We have got to figure something out, or I will really lose it.

Work has been really stressing me out too. Some of the people that I have to work with up front are just too much to deal with on a daily basis. I finally told the HR manager that I needed to be moved elsewhere. When she asked why, I told her it was not fair to my family for me to be taking home a bad mood that I am getting with from working with ___ and ___. She agreed and I will be moved on the next new schedule. Hopefully things will get better.

So far I have narrowed down what is bother me to
1. constant yelling and bickering between the kids
2. still being stuck at a job I hate
3. the mess in this house (that no matter what I do I can not keep ahead of)
4. the laziness of other people in my life
5. my lack of motivation to do anything
6. my own laziness (which is causing great problems in other body image and such)
7. my lack of time to myself (I always have at least one kid with me unless I am at work and that really doesnt count)
8. feeling like a single parent, even though I am not

I NEED for spring to get here like now. I really dont do well in this weather, I hate to be outside and freeze and really there is nothing to do around here in this weather. The only ice rink is already closed because they have to get the park ready for Easter (egg hunt). I would love to go to a gym, but we really cant afford it. There are things I would love to do (hobbies, walk), but since I have no time to myself, I cant do any of them.

Mike doesnt understand why I need time to because I can do nothing without an interuption from at least one child, if not all. Good example was the other night when my dad called. Every child in this house asked me for something and kept trying to talk to me while I was on the phone. Mike was in the other room, not doing much of anything, and comepletely available to ask anything of.

Well, now I need to go feed three of the kids to make sure Kat is ready for girl scouts when Mike gets here to pick her up. Then I will have to feed the other kid (he is with him), and then feed Mike at some point.

Right now, Zoey is at my feet have a tantrum....I really do love my life (maybe if I keep saying it I will not feel like I dont). I need some ease of this stress, and I am open to any suggestions anyone has. But for now, must go dish up supper.

Its been crazy...

...around here, but lets face it, that is nothing new or unusual. Actually, with the last post I was talking about Zoey being sick, um well, we all got sick. Thankfully she was the only one that puked though. By the end of the week, 5 of us had been to the doctor, with the following dx...Zoey- SI and strep, Bradlee- SI (no tonsils so no strep), me-SI and strep(thanks Zo), Mike-URI and SI, Katja-URI and SI. Keith was the only one that did end up with anything, but Im not so sure he is not working on an SI now. He had his tonsils and adnoids removed last spring, so strep is not a fear with him either. So we are all pretty much healed now thankfully.

I have also been working, though not as much as I wish I was. When I am home, its hard to get the computer because the 4 yo wants it...but mom I *have* to get on there to play with the webkinz. How do you explain to an almost 4 yo that you dont have to play with the webkinz? You cant, thats all there is to Then when the other kids get home, they all want to get on the one computer(that is mine) that everyone wants to use. It equals little time for the mom to be on here.

So speaking of the almost 4yo, OMG her birthday is in less than two weeks and I have done nothing to plan a party. Can we all say BAD MOMMA? I have to figure out where it is going to be at before I can do anything, but I have yet to call and check on prices. I really need to get on that so I can get invites into school on Thursday huh? Oh gosh the list of things to do just keeps growing and growing. Oh and Mike set up the Fios TV installation for Zoey's dork. I DO NOT want to be the only one stuck at a party with a bunch of pre-schoolers, but we have no idea what time they are coming to do the installation. I cant make the child wait a week for her party, she will just have a shit fit about it. All we have heard for the last month already is about her birthday. Speaking of that, I need to take that day off work too...dork to myself I

Ok, off to plan a party, will keep everyone updated on that.

Three words parents dread hearing....

....what could they be, I know you are sitting there trying to figure it out. Well, I heard them last night about 4 am..."Mommy, I puked" Zoey woke up and puked out the side of her bed, but miraculously she didnt get any on her jammies or her bed. Oh, and lets be thankful that the girls have hardwood floors in their room. So I have been up since 4 am with a whiney sick little one and have cleaned up more vomit than I ever care too. She is sleeping at the moment, which has happened off and on since she originally got up, but when she is not sleeping she is mostly crying (for any reason you can think of), but really its because she is also burning up with a fever.

The only bad thing with this is in a house of four kids, the big question is who will get it next. I have it narrowed down to two people, Bradlee because he drank out of Zoey's pop last night or Katja because they share a room. This is not the week to do this because I took next Saturday off which means I work like all week, well except for Wednesday because of therapy. Oh and there is that wonderful thing of I cant afford to take a day off, not only because of the money, but because of the stupid points you get if you do.

So, right now I am praying that Zoey is well enough to go to child care tomorrow, and that who ever gets it next doesnt do so until Tuesday night. What a way to start the week....

Well, until something more exciting happens, farewell all.

Missing in action????

So I have been missing in action. This has been a busy week and I just havent had the chance to get on here to post. You are about to learn why....

Science fair projects suck. That should explain a lot of it right Tuesday night, that was the plan. Mike was going to help the boys do their boards on Tuesday night. Yup, that was the Keith forgot all of his science project stuff at school so Mike had to go to the school at 5 and hope that someone was there to let him get into the classroom and get it. Well, thankfully the janitor was still there because Mike was about to blow a gasket (teenager never listens and its getting old).

While they were gone, I decided to look at what Bradlee had done. Now mind you supposedly he had done the experiment and had everything done but finishing typing it up and doing the board. Um sure, he had definitions that he had paraphrased off the internet. I saw no data and nothing that said he did an experiment. Now mind you, I never saw him do his "experiment" in the first place. I came home from work late one night and he was typing up the "results" and had already done the experiment. Of course Mike was home, but he was laying on the couch not paying attention to what was going on, so Im not sure what all Bradlee did, but I dont think he did anything.

So, with Bradlee I had to start all over, at the last minute, to get an experiment done and everything ready. Now this means that I did most of it and was working on it until a little after 11 when I had had enough and just had to stop. We didnt even start on the board until Wednesday, and of course I did most of the work on the whole thing. I just really hate science fair projects because they bring so much stress on the parents, or at least they do in this house.

Now that science fair projects are done, I have just been having issues with the slobs that live in this house. No one picks up after themselves, and then when it comes to actual cleaning, Im the only one that does it for the most part. Occasionally, if I let the house get really messy, it will bug Mike enough that he will do it, but I have to let it go longer than I like to so it doesnt happen often.

Well, Im sure I could come up with more rants, but it is now time for me to go get ready for work. I really hate my job, and another day I might be able to go into detail as to why I hate my job, but now I do not have time. So until then......farewell all.

Bottom of the basket syndrome????

Does anyone else have this problem? Dirty clothes get lost in the bottom of the basket, not to be seen clean again for months. It occurs when you don't completely empty the basket while doing laundry and more dirty clothes get piled on top of what is already there. The next time you go to do laundry, you wash what is on top, leaving whats on the bottom there to sit and wait.

It was brought to my attention (by the person that has yet to add me to friends that if you leave clothes that are too small within reach they are gonna wear them (see previous post about Zoey's choice of clothes). To explain why they were in her drawer still...those pants suffered from the bottom of the basket syndrome.

The shirt that technically goes with the pants in question is short sleeved, and the outfit has not been worn for a couple months. Now, the shirt has been clean for a while, but the pants got lost at the bottom of the basket of dirty jeans and recently got washed, dried, and put away. Because of this, these pants were at the top of the stacks in the drawer. So, the last time these pants were worn before Sunday they still fit. The sad thing about the bottom of the basket syndrome is that I know for a fact there is a pair of capris of Zoeys that are in the jeans basket still waiting to be washed. I think those were worn in September to school the last time they were

I have went through great steps to prevent the bottom of the basket syndrome from occurring in the darks and lights baskets (as there used to be a problem here as well), and now I apparently need to implement these steps for the dirty jeans basket. I will keep you posted on this problem in my laundry room regarding Mt Morton.

Until later today, as its time to go buy construction paper and glue sticks, farewell all.

Crazy Weekends

Sometimes I really hate the weekend. For most people, the weekend is a time to relax with the family and get some things done, but for me it usually means I have to work. When I am at work is when tends thing to fall apart here at home, examples of such are the house being trashed, nothing being picked up, and nothing getting done. Most of this occurs because I am not home to either prevent it or to make it happen.

See, there was a plan for this weekend, which for one reason or another got messed up. The main reason was my mother, how we love her, was supposed to come today, but decided to come on Saturday instead. Which, really shouldn't have been that bad since what we had planned on doing on Saturday when I got home could have been done today when I got home from work, or so you would think.

Well, today came and I got up and went to work, mind you everyone was still snug in bed sleeping soundly, besides the dogs that is. I come home from work a little late, after a voicemail saying I thought you got off at 1pm, which was left at 1:15, saying stop and get this, this and this before you come home. So I go pick up the things that were *needed* and headed home.

I get home, and the only person dressed in the house is Zoey, and that is because after making Mike give her a bath she went upstairs and picked out her clothes herself (oh it was quite an outfit let me tell ya).
As you can see her favorite colors are pink and purple, and she loves to wear zip up hoodies. I just wished she wouldn't have picked pants that were too short, but it could have been a skirt so I shouldn't complain too much. The shirt sort of matched the pants in that the flowers on the pants are pink like the shirt, now where the purple hoodie came in to all this I'm not sure, oh and she also had on purple non skid socks when I got home (those have since been replaced by slippers and then bare feet).
The sad part was that Mike and Bradlee were still both in the pajamas laying around on the couch watching TV (must have been nice). So, we really needed to get into the attic today and get some stuff down and put some stuff up there, but it kind of hard to do so when no one is dressed. Since no one got dressed until much later nothing got done. Bradlee got dressed to go to a friend's house, and Mike only got dressed to go pick him up from the friend's house.
In light of all of this, the house is only semi-trashed since some of the kids were gone and nothing got done, but at least I have the next three days off. I suppose I will be spending some of my time in the attic tomorrow, which is not my idea of a good time. So the time is 9:18 and I really need to go tackle Mt Morton for a bit since I haven't been down there since Friday (oh the horror of it all) as laundry was another thing that got interrupted by my mom coming a day early.
So until tomorrow, good night all and sleep tight.
